This is nothing more than a shameful attempt by the mainstream media to cancel a popular Black voice in the Republican Party and silence conservatives who believe in the American Dream. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Friend,

The Washington Post’s attempted “fact-check” of Senator Tim Scott’s family history just got even more insulting.

The Post tried to claim that Tim and his family had a privileged upbringing because some ancestors owned farmland well before he was born. That attack didn’t work, so now they’ve resorted to claiming that Tim’s story seems just “a bit too tidy” to be true.

This is nothing more than a shameful attempt by the mainstream media to cancel a popular Black voice in the Republican Party and silence conservatives who believe in the American Dream.

As Tim can tell you, there was nothing “tidy” about his grandfather picking cotton as a boy during the Great Depression in the South. There was nothing “tidy” about his grandfather leaving school to work in the fields at such a young age.

There was nothing “tidy” about Tim’s mother working 16 hours a day to keep food on the table for their family. There was nothing “tidy” about her and her two boys sharing a bedroom after Tim’s parents got divorced.

Despite those challenges, Tim recalls his childhood with a smile because of how much he overcame, not because of how easy he had it.

But thanks to the grace of God and the encouragement of those who loved him, Tim Scott climbed the ladder to escape poverty and is now living his family’s American Dream.

Since becoming the first African American elected to serve in both the House and Senate, he’s worked hard to lower taxes, invest in struggling communities, and improve education so generations of kids like him can live their own American Dream.

It’s telling that the story of a Black boy from North Charleston, South Carolina who grew up to be a business owner, Senator, and conservative leader is “a bit too tidy” for some liberal journalists.

Tim Scott doesn’t fit their stereotypes, and he doesn’t fit their narrative. The media ignores minority conservatives like him and rejects the idea of the American Dream because it’s politically inconvenient.

But Tim Scott is as authentic as they come and we’re thankful for his strong conservative leadership.
