Friends,

2021 is a critical year for our Commonwealth.

In this November’s statewide elections, we’ll choose a new Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. In addition, all 100 seats in the House of Delegates are up for election.

At stake in these elections is nothing less than the future of Virginia — the future that our friends and neighbors will live and work in, that our children will grow up in, and that our grandchildren will inherit.

Since 2019, when Democrats took full control of the Virginia legislature for the first time in almost 30 years, we’ve achieved some truly remarkable things:

  • Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment
  • Abolition of the death penalty
  • Passage of historic voting rights protections
  • Funding support for Pre-K, public education, and our colleges and universities
  • Passage of significant gun control legislation
  • Adoption of anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people
  • Passage of a minimum wage increase to $15/hour by 2026
  • Passage of significant criminal justice reform measures
  • Protections for the environment, including the Environmental Justice Act

We’ve done a lot, and in many ways, Virginia has led states in the South as well as the rest of the country. But so much work remains to be done — improving our public education system, making healthcare accessible and affordable for all, guaranteeing clean air and water for our children, and striving for social justice.

To do this, we must ensure that Democrats hold control of the legislature and the Executive offices. My team and I are putting together a new initiative to do just that. November might seem a long way off, but campaigns are so often won or lost on the strength of their foundations.

Will you contribute whatever you’re able to help us lay the groundwork for this fall’s election? We’ll channel your donation into our efforts to ensure that every voter has their voice heard at the ballot box this year.

Thank you for your support. I look forward to working alongside you to continue building a Commonwealth that works for all of us.

P.S. I’ll soon be rolling out a number of endorsements for the Democrats I support as the best leaders for our times — stay tuned!
