Tell Congress and the Biden Administration:
Fund Israel's Defense, Not Endless Occupation
ADD YOUR NAME
Friend --
Last month, thousands of advocates gathered online for our National Conference to discuss how our movement can help stop creeping annexation and deepening occupation.
Together, we’re calling on Congress and the Biden administration to ensure that America’s critical military aid to Israel is used to defend our ally against the very real security threats it faces -- and not to support actions that undermine its own democratic future and trample on Palestinian rights.
That means supporting common-sense transparency measures and guardrails. We’re seeking to ensure that Israel continues to receive its full aid commitments from the United States, and that its right-wing government cannot divert equipment bought with such aid toward expanding West Bank settlements, demolishing Palestinian communities or detaining Palestinian children in violation of international law.
This is a reasonable and common-sense proposal that aligns our aid with our values -- but we know it’s sure to provoke stiff resistance from those who prefer the status quo. Please, add your name now to show our leaders there is strong, popular support for common-sense pro-Israel, pro-peace leadership >>
With Prime Minister Netanyahu and others continuing to champion unilateral annexation -- and settlement growth continuing at a rapid pace -- we know rhetorical support for a two-state solution is simply not enough: Our elected officials must take stronger action.
In our petition, we’re making clear to our leaders that greater transparency and controls over our security aid would actually strengthen America’s full, bipartisan security commitments to Israel by ensuring all our aid is used for defensive purposes, in line with US interests and values.
Together, we’re showing we can see through right-wing smears that falsely call common-sense aid restrictions “anti-Israel.” We’re saying loudly and clearly that we believe it's unconscionable to allow equipment bought with American dollars to support the demolition of Palestinian homes or the unjust detention of Palestinian children.
We’re making clear we have a right to know how and where US-supplied weaponry and equipment is used and that our leaders shouldn't hesitate to help bring aid to Israel more into line with how American military assistance is distributed to our other allies and partners.
Our military aid to Israel is too important to be a blank check for the Israeli settlement movement. Please add your name to tell the White House and Congress that you support a vision of American leadership that promotes peace, security and justice for both Israelis and Palestinians >>
Thank you for your support.
