Dear Friend,
Over the past year, overdose deaths have risen dramatically as the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted people’s access to health care, their families, and recovery communities.
Today, President Clinton is bringing together leaders from faith and science to take action on the addiction and overdose crisis. We’d like you to join President Clinton, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Bishop Vashti McKenzie of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, and 16th Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. David Satcher for today’s discussion, co-hosted with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and The Centre for Responsible Leadership.
Join here for today’s discussion, beginning at 3:00 p.m. EDT
For more than three years, the Clinton Foundation’s Opioid Response Network has worked with groups of religious leaders across different faiths and denominations, in communities across the country, to address the opioid epidemic. The Foundation also works to distribute the opioid overdose reversal drug naloxone across the country, with more than 280,000 doses deployed to recovery residences, schools and universities, and other community organizations.
You can hear more about our efforts on the latest episode of the Foundation's podcast, "Why Am I Telling You This?" featuring a conversation between President Clinton and U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy discussing ways to combat the opioid epidemic.
Working together, we can fight this crisis – reducing overdose deaths and helping more people get into recovery. We hope you join us today for this important discussion.
