It’s hard to imagine, Friend, but the COVID-19 crisis in India has gotten much worse in just a matter of days.
Last week, reports indicated that new confirmed cases in the country totaled over 350,000 each day. By Saturday, May 1, that number was more than 400,000.
As cases and deaths continue to rise, oxygen, hospital beds, testing and other critical aid have become increasingly scarce. UNICEF is on the ground in India rushing to stop this deadly surge, but we can’t reach the health workers and families that need help without your support.

The 400,000+ new cases each day in India represent much more than statistics. They’re families living every moment of the day in fear for their health and safety. They’re doctors, nurses and health workers shouldering the weight of hospitals far over capacity. They’re patients who need sustained lifesaving oxygen, but the supply is dangerously low.
In this global pandemic, no one is safe until everyone is safe.
Together, we must act quickly to combat India’s deadly second coronavirus wave and protect at-risk children and families everywhere. Please, rush your emergency gift right now.
Thank you,
UNICEF USA
