At every turn, the Democrats seek to stack the deck in their favor. The latest example is H.R. 1, an attempted hostile takeover of our electoral process.
This so-called "For The People Act" undermines the constitutional authority of states to run their own elections. Instead, elections would be federalized, and states would be forced to implement a slew of new policies that would destroy the integrity of our democratic process.
This dangerous legislation has already passed the House and is one vote away from becoming law. H.R. 1 would ban Voter ID requirements, legalize ballot harvesting, and force states to accept mail-in ballots that come in 10 days after Election Day. This bill takes the worst election laws from 2020 and enforces them nationwide. Indiana knows how to conduct elections in a manner that is accessible, fair, and transparent. But this dangerous legislation would only erode public trust in our democratic process. If we don't fight this unconstitutional power grab, we may never again have a free and fair election.
