Last month, I joined a Zoom call with a group of young Americans to discuss the issues that are most important to them. 

Their concerns were no surprise. Like millions of young Americans and their families, they face crushing student loan debt. The costs are out of control. 

Fortunately, President Biden has the authority to cancel $50,000 of student debt per person with the flick of a pen. And Elizabeth Warren and I are leading the charge to get him to do it.

I’m pushing hard to cancel student debt, but I need you to make your voice heard too. Will you sign your name next to mine and call on President Biden to cancel student debt?

It’s time to end the vicious cycle that keeps young people from building a strong foundation early in their careers. 

Canceling student debt is the one thing we can do right now that will jump start our economic recovery, help build long-term economic opportunity and close the racial wealth gap. Student debt disproportionately hurts people of color.

I have the privilege of leading a Senate majority that is committed to making big progress. But they know -- and our opponents know -- that progress means nothing if we lose hold of that majority in 2022.

There are 1.2 million students in New York, and I will always fight for their futures. That starts by eliminating the devastating burden of student debt. Will you join me?
