Adopt-A-Meter program lets anyone restore a square meter of degraded soil, rekindling carbon drawdown and bringing old emissions back into the soil.

Dear John,

The American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) has joined with The Carbon Underground (TCU) on a new way to help businesses make a difference in fighting climate change. TCU’s Adopt-A-Meter program is designed to engage the public in a solution providing real hope for climate change.

Simply put, when a person adopts a square meter of soil their $5 goes to organizations helping farmers restore their land and move to regenerative practices.

To honor Mother’s Day, and Mother Earth, proceeds from this campaign will support four groups representing female farmers around the world. These include American Farmland Trust (U.S.), Navdanya International (India), Co-op Las Amazonas (Costa Rica), and Coopecuna (Costa Rica).

Please join us on May 7 at 2-3 PM EDT for a virtual presentation by ASBC and The Carbon Underground, with a panel that includes partner companies, our recipient groups, The Carbon Underground, and ASBC.  A Q&A session will follow on how your business and your customers can help reverse climate change, one $5 meter at a time.

Until then, you can learn more about the program at adoptameter.org, or by contacting Colton Fagundes ASBC ([email protected] or 530-613-3551) at or Pam Tarr at The Carbon Underground ([email protected] or 310-612- 7754).
