Hi
John, When Apollo heard Razan's story, he had questions.
Six-year-old Apollo from London heard about Razan from a Save the Children update on Yemen. As Razan was fleeing her home in Yemen with her father, shrapnel hit her in the face. She nearly lost her eyesight before a Save the Children clinic was able to treat her.
So Apollo wrote Razan a letter. He didn't ask her about the pain or trauma she experienced. He asked her about what brought her joy.
"I like animals. Do you like animals?"
As it happens, Razan loves animals. She told Apollo all about her favorites: black and white bunnies.

Sometimes a tragedy obscures the person who experiences it. From our comfortable homes, it can be hard to identify with survivors like Razan and her father, who struggled to find her care for five days after the shrapnel hit her. He couldn't afford the hospital.
Apollo knows it's not fair that Razan has had to live in fear while he is safe in his London home. But he also knows there's so much more to Razan than just the scariest few days of her life. Watch their story here.
I hope this story encourages you today!
Best,
