Fellow Conservative,
I used to wear the black mask of Antifa.
But not anymore, thank God. I saw the light and joined the conservative movement.
Now, I travel the country to free more young people from the left’s clutches. I’d love to have your support for this most urgent mission.
Will you help me warn young Americans about the dangers of Antifa?
You know the damage Antifa has done to our country, especially during violent riots. Masked Antifa members pick up baseball bats and riot in the streets – all in the name of “social justice” and socialism.
Antifa’s propaganda appealed to me -- like it did so many other young people. When I was a student, I believed in free speech and in helping “the little guy.” Antifa presented themselves as a “compassionate” and “inclusive” group who cared about those same principles.
What a scam that was.
In fact, Antifa is one of the biggest threats to America. Let me pull back the curtain on this dangerous group.
I wasn’t even 18 when I first put on the black mask and agitated against “the system.”
For a year and a half, I traveled throughout southern California with Antifa. I was as brainwashed as I could ever be.
I participated in well-known protests like “Occupy Los Angeles” and orchestrated others for left-wing causes. Some of the protests I participated in were in front of the personal homes of CEOs who ran successful businesses.
We gathered and chanted outside their windows, merely because their companies had slight connections to animal testing. Often the CEOs were not home – but that was the point.
We were there to annoy the CEOs’ neighbors. If we annoyed their neighbors enough, their reaction would often pressure the CEOs into submission. They’d cave to our demands.
That’s the way the left works.
The left cannot win arguments. So instead, they use bullying tactics to force their enemies to do their will.
Nowadays, when conservatives or moderates ask me how much it will take to appease the mobs, I sigh out of frustration. It’s never enough for the left. They’re never satisfied.
Even though I thought Antifa believed in some of the same things I did, I didn’t want to be a bully. And they proved themselves not only violent and hateful, but inconsistent.
Antifa said they supported the average person – but called for government to stifle individual rights. As a proponent of free speech and individual liberty, I knew this was wrong.
So in my freshman year at Citrus College of California, while still a member of Antifa, I began to seek out alternative thought.
That’s when I met Adam Weinberg, a campus organizer from a great conservative organization called the Leadership Institute. Meeting Adam changed my life.
Adam traveled to college campuses to recruit young conservatives and free students from the left’s propaganda. He took the time to talk with me about individual freedom and gave me several books to read.
The book that stood out to me the most was Frédéric Bastiat’s “The Law.” Like me, Bastiat was disillusioned with people who would use government as a tool to oppress others. For me, that was the spark.
My heart told me Antifa was wrong, but it wasn’t until someone from the Leadership Institute showed me principles worth fighting for, not just some vague thing to fight against, that I began to change.
I reflected upon my liberty-minded and conservative philosophy -- and left Antifa behind.
With the Leadership Institute’s help, I organized a liberty-driven group on my campus. My fellow students and I engaged in activism for constitutional principles.
Will you help the Leadership Institute send me on a campus tour to spread the principles of conservatism?
Some of the core principles I held as a teenager were right, but Antifa misled me into agitating for their twisted ideology.
After the Leadership Institute found me and helped me form a conservative group, I knew I wanted to do more. I felt called to help other conservative students stand up to the lies, abuses, and brainwashing the campus left subjects them to.
So I applied and became a Leadership Institute campus organizer in the fall of 2015 -- just like Adam who found me and turned my life around for the better.
I learned how to identify new conservative students on campus. How to organize them into energetic groups. How to teach them to engage in activism to show the real conservative message to other students. And how to hold the left’s feet to the fire when they threatened conservative students.
I served as a campus organizer for several semesters. Then Leadership Institute president Morton Blackwell promoted me and gave me a new title: Student Rights Advocate.
Now I travel throughout the country, visiting college campuses on behalf of the Leadership Institute. I’m determined to make a difference for more young people, breaking them free from the left’s clutches.
Because if conservatives like you and me don’t speak out, radical groups like Antifa will work to undermine and destroy everything good about America.
Last year I wrote a book about my experiences called Behind the Black Mask: My Time as an Antifa Activist. With it I seek to open the eyes of more young Americans to the ugly truth about Antifa.
Thanks to my Leadership Institute colleagues, I’m currently in the midst of a nationwide speaking tour to spread the word. This Behind the Black Mask tour is a big deal.
So far, I’ve visited 38 campuses and spoken to many hundreds of students.
You may not be surprised to know that the left doesn’t greet me kindly! They see me as a traitor. So they try to make it difficult for conservative groups to host my speeches. Thank goodness the Leadership Institute is there to help me get heard.
In my talks to students, I make clear that Antifa’s claim to be “anti-fascist” is deceptive. Because to these radical leftists, fascism means capitalism, freedom of speech, Judeo-Christian values, Western culture -- anything and everything that doesn’t align with the left’s agenda.
So you see, there’s hope to free young people free from the left’s clutches. If I can break away from Antifa and leftist brainwashing, other young Americans can too.
I’ll always be grateful to the Leadership Institute for turning my life around, and for all they continue to do for me and for the cause of freedom today.
All this good work would not have been possible if not for the Leadership Institute’s generous donors. These committed, freedom-loving Americans helped bring an LI field organizer to my campus. They made all the difference for me.
And now, Leadership Institute supporters continue to change lives for the better. By helping me bring my Behind the Black Mask tour to more campuses across the country, they make sure thousands more students get the chance to see through Antifa’s lies.
Will you join the ranks of those life-changing Leadership Institute supporters?
By supporting the Leadership Institute today, you’ll help me travel to many more campuses this year.
I plan to speak at Rutgers University, Brown University, The University of Northern Colorado, and many more campuses nationwide.
You’ll also help my LI colleagues recruit many thousands more students to join campus conservative organizations and resist leftist indoctrination. Right now, 2,002 active conservative campus clubs are part of the Leadership Institute’s unique nationwide network. Their ranks will grow even more with your help.
The more young people you and I can free from the left’s clutches, the better for the future of our country. Together you and I can overcome the lies and propaganda of Antifa and the rest, and ensure a brighter, freer tomorrow for us all.
The only thing stopping me from speaking at more colleges and universities is making sure I have enough funding to continue my tour.
Will you turn around more young Americans’ lives by giving to the Leadership Institute today?
Your gift of $50, $100, $250, or even $500 would help my Behind the Black Mask tour bring the ugly truth about Antifa to more campuses -- and turn more students towards freedom.
Will you click here to support the life-changing work of the Leadership Institute?
If you are able to give $100 or more today, I’ll send you a copy of my book Behind the Black Mask: My Time as an Antifa Activist, so you can learn more of my story for yourself. I think you’d enjoy it. And with a gift of $250 or more, I’ll personally sign your copy of my book.
It’s another way I can thank you for your generosity to save young men and women from Antifa.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I look forward to hearing from you very soon.
Sincerely,
Gabriel Nadales
