For years we've heard mainstream media, Democrats, and Hollywood denounce what they call authoritarianism creeping into the ideology of the political Right, led largely by President Trump. They conflate this "authoritarianism" with the criminals that invaded the United States Capitol on January 6th.

The criminals at the Capitol should be condemned, of course, and have been by all Americans of goodwill, but I argue that the greatest authoritarian threat to America today lies elsewhere: in its institutional powers.

Journalism, academia, Hollywood, Silicon Valley, and corporate America have been weaponized against any political or cultural dissent from their positions of unearned moral superiority. The culture of these institutions has completely turned against traditional conservative values and if we're honest, the Left is ascendant in every one of these areas of American life. The most powerful people in our country hate half of America, and this is dividing us at breakneck speed. Dissenters are smeared and canceled, putting families and livelihoods at risk.

So what is to be done?

In my new book, The Authoritarian Moment ([link removed] ) , I provide personal strategies to fight back against this movement in America. Make no mistake, I think this seizure and weaponization of American institutions by the Left is the greatest threat to America today.
