Friends —
We wanted to celebrate the courage and force of will that is Jen Sarduy — she may have come up short this time, but Ft. Worth is better because she ran an incredible race. First time candidates don’t always win, but the lessons they learn and the people they meet are what help them secure the victory next time.
As a queer black parent, Jen has an embodied understanding of intersectionality that centers their work in the community. She works for the liberation and independence of their community through innovative communications work, facilitation, and program co-design. Jen lives in District 2, where she is the co-founder of Re+Birth Equity Alliance, a Fort Worth-based nonprofit organization working to inspire, protect, and build community with Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) and LGB TGNC+ people.
We were proud to support Jen because she…
* Supports the Ban the Box legislation
* Supports municipal IDs
* Wants to ensure that people can access IDs regardless of immigration status, legal history, housing status or other factors that exclude people from participating in local government and other supportive services without IDs
We are so grateful for the heart and hustle of everyone on Jen’s team and so thankful to count ourselves as part of the effort. To everyone who voted, volunteered and worked beside us this campaign — thank you.
With gratitude,
Project ID Action Fund
