Let’s cut to the chase: Paul Watkins and Eric Blankenstein must resign from the Trump administration.

We need 731 more signatures to file our petition calling on Trump’s Terrible Two, Paul Watkins and Eric Blankenstein, to step down from their positions at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, in light of their unacceptable, bigoted views. Let’s recap why Paul Watkins should resign:

- Before joining the Trump administration, Paul Watkins worked for an anti-LGBT hate group called the Alliance for Defending Freedom. Among other anti-LGBT policies, the ADF publicly supported recriminalizing homosexuality, has defended the state-sanctioned sterilization of trans people in other countries, and has argued there’s a link between homosexuality and pedophilia.
- Despite his record, Watkins was hired at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and now could hold the power to exempt companies from having to comply with anti-discrimination laws!

Now onto Eric Blankenstein:

- While Blankenstein was working for the CFPB (on anti-discrimination efforts, no less), the Washington Post discovered his history of writing racist blog posts.
- Rather than firing him on the spot, CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger did nothing… and Ben Carson recently brought him to HUD.
