Dear John,

As Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care, I have seen what going above and beyond really means for our team members and how, even in a pandemic, we are thinking bigger, trying new approaches and continuing to make breakthroughs happen.
There isn't a day that goes by without newly sick or injured children coming to Children's Hospital Los Angeles. And during the coronavirus pandemic, we've been working around the clock to keep each one of them safe and providing the same level of care and attention we would want for our own loved ones.
I've always believed our team is deserving of the highest praise. The past year has made it plain as day that each and every one of them is ready to give their all for the kids whose families entrust us with their care.
Please, help them see just how much they are appreciated by taking a minute now to thank a caregiver with personal message and card. Sign by the deadline and your card will be delivered in honor of National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week—two weeks in May dedicated to celebrating health care heroes.
As I reflect on my work, I recognize how much I love seeing our team's dedication firsthand every day. I have a lifelong commitment to making each day better than the last for the people around me, and that's part of why I am so thankful to have colleagues who work tirelessly to do the same—to give kids and families hope that tomorrow can be better than today.
