After decades of lies, the media is still falling for Trump’s schtick:
What, in CNBC’s telling, is Trump protecting us from? A health care system that isn’t driven by greed and profits?
According to the Trump Administration, they’re saving Medicare, a government-run insurance program, from “socialist destruction.” The truth is much more insidious:
It turns out that Trump’s executive order is nothing more than a backdoor attempt to privatize Medicare—pushing more seniors into private Medicare Advantage plans run by for-profit insurance corporations.

The Trump administration is disguising this assault on Medicare as protecting the American people from socialized medicine. And, in a sense they are. They want to do away with everything that works about our existing government-run Medicare system, and hand it over to the greedy insurance corporations.
Republicans and their corporate paymasters are terrified about the fact that people throughout the country are beginning to understand that Medicare for All will help them obtain high-quality medical care at a much lower cost than they pay today. So Big Pharma and corporate insurers are pulling out all the stops to defeat it, including launching fear-mongering campaigns to worry those who are most dependent on health care—older Americans.
We are just beginning to see their campaign of fear and privatization.
But we are not going to allow their efforts to undermine the health care of millions of Americans to go unchecked. We are going to stand together and fight for Medicare for All. In addition to ensuring all Americans have access to quality health care, the Medicare for All Act—which is supported by a growing number of candidates for president—significantly expands Medicare for current seniors in extremely important ways. It adds hearing, dental and vision coverage as well as long-term care.
Social Security Works is working overtime to spread the truth about Medicare for All. It isn’t going to be easy as we fight back against the unlimited resources of the greedy health care industry. But today, we’re not asking for your money. We need your vote.
This month, you can support Social Security Works without opening your wallet. Our friends at CREDO Action have selected us to receive a share of $150,000. Vote for us today!

Aside from being the right thing to do morally, moving the United States to a Medicare for All system will REDUCE health care costs.
Right now, the administrative costs of private health insurance are generally more than 12%. In fact, it took the passage of the Affordable Care Act to limit insurance companies to spending no more than 20% of patient premiums on administrative costs. Adding everyone to Medicare would further reduce costs by adding healthy, young beneficiaries to the system, driving the per capita costs even lower.
Medicare for All is a “no-brainer.”
Together, we can fight back against the Republican Party and their Big Pharma and Big Insurance allies. And this month, you don’t even need to open your wallet. All you have to do is VOTE! Please take a moment to vote today to help fulfill our mission: To protect and expand Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and lower prescription drug prices!
Thank you for your support,
