John,

Here is your latest email previewing upcoming legislative actions as we head into the final month of this year's session of the Texas Legislature.

Similar to last week, we are in a holding pattern waiting for when, and if, the next round of bad bills hit the House floor. Until then, I hope this email finds you in time to make plans for two big actions tomorrow if you’re in the Austin area and able to join us in person.

Reproductive Rights

Tuesday, May 4 @ 11 a.m : You’re invited tomorrow to attend the Just Texas press conference on anti-abortion bills [[link removed]] on the south steps of the Capitol. At this press conference, progressive faith leaders and progressive people of faith will voice their opposition to abortion restriction bills.

LGBTQ Equality

Tuesday, May 4 @ 12:15 p.m : We’d love to see you at the Stand with Transgender Texans at the Texas Capitol [[link removed]] rally following the Just Texas press conference. Like the press conference, the rally will also be on the south steps of the Capitol. No moving required!

Voting Rights

Finally we encourage you to continue to call Speaker Phelan [[link removed]] to let him know you oppose voter suppression bills HB 6 and SB 7 from ever seeing the House floor.

Thank you for staying in the fight and stay tuned for next week’s email.

Onward,
