Let's do our part for our city.
Friends,
Tomorrow, the Greater New Orleans Foundation is hosting the 8th annual GiveNOLA Day to support local charities and non-profits. This is our chance to step up to show our love for our city and our neighbors. Many organizations are already in our communities doing important work. And as you may know, Forward Together New Orleans is one of those organizations.
Following my inauguration as mayor, we decided to continue my transition committee as a non-profit to help us advance our mission of building a fairer, more equitable city. One way FTNO has done that is by spearheading relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the beginning of the pandemic, FTNO has raised over $2 million, money that has been devoted to priorities like helping families in need stay in their homes, allocating stimulus money for immigrant communities left out of federal aid, and providing technology for students in virtual classes.
Now, as our attention turns to recovering from this awful pandemic, FTNO's work is more important than ever. So I'm asking you to consider pitching in to support FTNO during GiveNOLA Day tomorrow. FTNO's work is already helping the people of New Orleans in numerous ways. You can visit the FTNO page on the GiveNOLA Day website to donate to help FTNO continue their crucial work.
