Conservatives in Kentucky just did what liberals falsely claim that we oppose and expanded voting access. The series of bills were crafted with help of Secretary of State Michael Adams and the conservative controlled legislature. The bills are being dubbed “the most significant election-reform legislation in the past quarter-century.” Collectively, they enhance voter access and ballot integrity for voting in Kentucky. The bill gained bi-partisan support and even the support of liberal Governor Beshear.”

Hi John,

The conservative-led legislature in Florida has passed a right-to-farm law that will protect farmers and the industry from nuisance-based lawsuits in the state. This comes off the heels of frivolous lawsuits in other states like North Carolina that saw farmers fending for their livelihoods. Governor DeSantis signed the legislation, cementing the reforms into law.

Farmers contribute billions of dollars to the economy and have been the bedrock of stability for the state during the COVID-19 pandemic. The law keeps farmers at the forefront of agricultural policy in the state by extending protections for new and growing farm industries. Conservatives will not allow farmers to be run out of business by urban encroachment and corporate lawsuits. The basis of a free market is that it is also fair — this bill gives farms the backing to keep them in the game.

Farming is what this country was built on and conservatives will ensure that their right will always exist. As inspirational speaker Brenda Schoepp once said: “My grandfather used to say that once in your life you need a doctor, a lawyer, a policeman, and a preacher. But every day, three times a day, you need a farmer."

SGLF recently ran a campaign highlighting the importance of preserving our food supply through common-sense protections for farmers and producers in the states.
