Hi John,
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) heritage month -- it feels a little different this year, though, with the shadow of increased violence against the AAPI community cast over us.
So this heritage month, we're using our platform to help build political power with AAPI young progressives, folks we believe can lead us all through these tough moments as well as strengthen their communities and the movement.
We're starting off strong with an event called “Unapologetically Progressive & AAPI.” The conversation will be moderated by Georgia state Senator and Run for Something alumni
Marvin Lim, candidate for Minneapolis City Council
Aisha Chughtai, candidate for Columbia (South Carolina) City Council At-Large
Aditi Bussells, and candidate for NYC Council
Tricia Shimamura.
We'll be discussing their exciting campaigns, the change they hope to bring to office, and how they'll build sustainable power for diverse young progressives in their respective communities. Join us on May 13th for this free event with incredible leaders.
This event is free!
Thanks,
Run for Something
