Virtual How To: Lights, Camera, Action-Presenting Yourself on Zoom

When you are interviewing, teaching, giving a presentation or even auditioning for a job via Zoom or any other virtual platform, first impressions are everything. This means your lighting, background and the colors you are wearing are part of your preparation. Learn from a professional lighting designer how you can create the best setting for these experiences.


The Career Center

The Career Center offers a comprehensive suite of online programs and services that help entertainment industry and performing arts professionals to identify and find sideline work and discover new careers outside the industry.

Get started by attending The Career Center Orientation (Monday* or Thursday session) to enroll in the career services offered. Once you've done that, you can attend workshops including Linkedin Suite for Entertainment* and Resume Writing Workshop*.

Additional workshops include How to Job Search in a Pandemic, Part 1* and Part 2.

Financial Wellness online workshops and seminars increase your financial knowledge and help you learn the tools and skills to support lifelong financial health and stability.

Take Budgeting Nuts & Bolts* on Tuesdays, proudly sponsored by Actors Federal Credit Union, to learn the basics of financial wellness. You can also attend the Thursday session, and additional workshops include Money Matters: Investing Basics for Creative Professionals - Part 1*.

The Actors Fund offers personalized health insurance counseling and enrollment support via Entertainment Health Insurance Solutions, referrals to health care resources, seminars on how to best care for yourself and more.

Health Insurance HQ provides an update on the health care landscape from the expert team at The Actors Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center (AHIRC). In this month's issue, learn about some updates to the American Rescue Plan Act which will lower health insurance premiums for our community.
