Last week during his joint address, President Biden spoke about his plan to work with Congress to address our country’s broken immigration system, protect DREAMERs, reunite families, and get to the root causes behind immigrants fleeing their home countries.

I’ve been working with President Biden and Vice President Harris on this issue, and today, I want to share with you a conversation I had with POLITICO about our efforts to fix our broken immigration system.

“I’ve been following [the immigration crisis] a long time and I’m thrilled we now have an administration that understands that we have an obligation to the stranger… but we have to be smart enough to make sure we do more than just welcome them and figure out what’s going on in these countries. We’ve got to be able to do both.”
