Friend,
Thank you for your continued generosity. Your support means that we can continue the work to hold Mad's seat — no matter how the districts are redrawn or what the PA GOP throws our way.
It's because of you that Mad remains focused on fulfilling her promises to Pennsylvanians and can spend less time fundraising.
We wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about Mad's latest work.
She knows that gun violence prevention is long overdue — with gun-related deaths and injuries hundreds of times higher in America than in other industrialized countries.
As this tragically historic spike in homicides continues, Mad has introduced the Undetectable Firearms Modernization Act — which prohibits the possession of any undetectable firearm by airport-level detection devices.
It's unfortunate how many times we have needed to send the same email petition: that we need action, we deserve action, it's common sense, and long overdue. It's shameful that any gun safety measures will always be stopped by the GOP minority.
Stand with Mad and the Biden administration if you agree that we all must take this public health crisis seriously and do the work to curb this epidemic.
Mad is also excited to share what President Biden has recently announced to tackle gun violence and advance gun safety:
-
The Justice Department will issue a proposed rule to help stop the proliferation of “ghost guns.”
-
The Justice Department will publish model “red flag” legislation allowing family members or law enforcement to petition for a court order temporarily barring people in crisis from accessing firearms if they present a danger to themselves or others.
-
The Justice Department will provide an annual report on firearms trafficking for policymakers to have the necessary information and data to address firearms trafficking today.
-
The Administration is investing in substantive evidence-based community violence interventions – proven strategies for reducing gun violence in urban communities.
-
As part of the American Jobs Plan, five federal agencies will modify 26 programs to reroute vital support to community violence intervention programs as quickly as possible.
Gun violence has been an ongoing epidemic in our country for too many years. The uptick in mass shootings continues to be heartbreaking, utterly senseless — and could be prevented. Add your name if you know that action is overdue.
Team Dean
