Hi John,
We’ve got an important panel discussion coming up tomorrow night and we hope you can join us!
While no two rural communities are identical, people in rural Maine often face a common set of public health challenges: limited local health care services, inadequate or non-existent high-speed internet, aging populations, wide geographies to cover, and more.
But rural Maine is also home to innovative public health collaborations, initiatives promoting health care equity and access, and undertakings that are creating the conditions for improved health outcomes in vulnerable communities. And here at the Maine Dems, we’ve launched The Rural Community Showcase, a virtual panel series that amplifies innovative ideas and important voices from Maine’s rural communities.
We hope you’ll join us for the kickoff panel tomorrow, May 4th at 5:30pm on Public Health Innovations in Rural Maine, featuring:
Maine Senate President Troy Jackson
Maine State Representative Holly Stover
Lisa Sockabasin, Director of Programs & External Affairs, Wabanaki Public Health
Charley Martin-Berry, Executive Director, Community Caring Collaborative
Drew Gattine, Chair of the Maine Democratic Party, Moderator
