Environmental attacks arising DAILY ? please help.? ? ? Friend ? the League of Conservation Voters has JUST learned that President Trump's EPA is preparing to eliminate the public's ? but not polluters' ? right to appeal permits for industrial pollution before administrative judges.

It's a basic right. Communities need to have the ability to appeal decisions that would dump pollution in their backyard ? it's one of the only recourses they have. Most of these industrial facilities getting permits are polluting in communities of color and low income communities. It's not fair. And the Trump administration is trying to make it even less fair by stripping communities of their right to be heard before the Environmental Appeals Board while leaving that option in place for polluters.

There's still time to stop this ? we need to act quickly. The new rule hasn't been proposed yet. If we can cause a storm of protest, there's still a chance to get them to back off. Your help is absolutely critical right now.

Please ? renew your membership for 2019.

A major donor has agreed to contribute $500,000 to fund our campaigns for the rest of 2019 ? only IF 10,000 people pitch in first. Even $5 gifts count.

? LCV Rapid Response ? ? ? ? ? Friend ? this is a long email ? but the details from the League of Conservation Voters's Rapid Response Team are important.

On Friday, the House passed the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act.

The kicker: This year, pro-environment lawmakers successfully attached a series of environmental provisions to the bill. And this is a must-pass bill ? without it, huge parts of the military lose funding.

First, there is a provision that would allow military resources to be used to prepare for the impacts of climate change. Under the Trump administration ? where any reference to climate change is being stripped from public policy ? this would be big.

Second, there are a number of critical amendments that would address widespread contamination from dangerous PFAS chemicals. This is a HUGE win towards making polluters pay.

What happens next is the House and Senate hash out a final bill ? and the negotiations are happening now. We need to be reaching offices with calls and letters. We need to be holding meetings with key members and their staff. We need to be organizing all over the country. We need your help.

To do it all takes resources we just don't have right now. A major donor has agreed to unlock $500,000 for our work, but ONLY if 10,000 LCV members pitch in too. We're only at 6,013 and we need your help.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, have been used for years by the military in firefighting foam, and have been linked to several health issues, including birth defects, immune diseases, cancer, and more.

The House version of the National Defense Authorization Act would make polluters clean up these dangerous chemicals.

And the NDAA also recognizes ? for the first time ? that climate change is a national security threat. It would ensure the DoD is capable of adapting to the impacts of climate change, such as sea level rise, drought, and more intense storms, by directing the DoD to identify and seek to remove barriers that hinder it from being resilient to those impacts. We need to get this passed ? but we can't do it without you.

There's more you should know: a major donor has agreed to contribute $500,000 to fund our campaigns for the rest of 2019 ? only IF 10,000 people pitch in first. Even $5 gifts count.

Friend ? it's so important to recognize that right now, we CAN make a difference. Earlier this year, the environmental movement stepped up in a big way to restore and permanently reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) after Republican leadership in Congress let the program expire. This was a huge win for the future of our nation's best and most accessible parks program ? and we couldn't have done it without the support of thousands of LCV members like you. Put simply: When you speak out, we win.

But fighting back on so many fronts takes resources that we just don't have right now. We're looking for 10,000 LCV members to pitch in, and here's where things stand:
