Colorado U.S. Senator helps create major anti-poverty program

Thanks to Michael, parents will receive more money to support their children, putting our country on track to cut child poverty nearly in half . That’s a big deal and will make a huge difference to millions of families.

For too long, our economy has been a “just getting by” economy as families across the country struggle to put food on the table. Michael’s expanded Child Tax Credit will lift 57,000 kids in Colorado out of poverty, and benefit over one million children statewide.

Look, this is what a Democratic majority can do. Not only can we work together to end child poverty, but we can finally tackle issues like climate change, raising the minimum wage, criminal justice reform, and more.

But let’s get one thing straight — Michael’s proposal would not have passed in Mitch McConnell’s Senate. If the GOP manages to flip a single seat next year, they’ll be back in charge blocking our progress left and right.
