October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, John, when folks across the country stand together and recommit to breaking the cycle of domestic violence nationwide.

And, unfortunately, it's never been more important.

In less than three years, Donald Trump has rolled back 50 years of progress on domestic violence and sexual assault, narrowing definitions and slashing budgets to prevent survivors from getting the support they deserve.

Lives depend on reversing those rollbacks. That means not only voting Trump out of office, but getting rid of the Senators like Susan Collins, who talk about compassion while excusing Trump's cruelty.

We're taking the Senate back in 2020! Chip in $3 now to join the movement.

From my early days at the Maine Women's Lobby and the Maine Commission for Women until today, I've spent my life advocating for stronger prevention and survivor services.

I have led the fight for the only increases in domestic violence and sexual assault funding in Maine -- once twenty years ago, and again this year.

Now I'm working to bring that fight to Washington as a US Senator. That means

Reversing Trump's disastrous policies by restoring the comprehensive definition of domestic violence and sexual assault to once again include psychological abuse, coercive control, and manipulation;

Assuring better access to services and swifter action for justice;

Properly funding the Violence Against Women Act to ensure services are fully supported on the community level, for all our communities;

Addressing the root causes of domestic violence: inequality, mental health challenges, drug and alcohol addiction, unemployment, and housing insecurity.
Mainers - and survivors across the country - can't afford another six years of Susan Collins's partisan hypocrisy; we deserve a Senator who'll stand up to whoever she needs to in order to support our most vulnerable. Someone with the guts to stand by her values and who has the record to prove it.

Someone who's on your side.

We've got a true grassroots movement of thousands, John, and we're leading the fight for true progressive reform in the Senate. Contribute $3 today and keep up the momentum!
