I’m not afraid to say it: The disgusting words coming from Donald Trump are indistinguishable from those of a white supremacist.

But you’re about to help me send him a historic response of opposition.
 
 
I need to make one thing very clear.
 
Donald Trump’s attacks against our Congresswomen of color are not only vile. They’re not only racist. 
 
They are the attacks of a white supremacist. 
 
So I just need to ask you one thing: 
 
Are we going to let Donald Trump succeed in smearing the very soul of our nation...
 
...or are we going to rise up with an overwhelming show of opposition to denounce him?
 
 
My grandmother came to this country from Mexico when she was 7 years old. 
 
She worked as a maid. She was told on countless occasions to “go back to Mexico.” 
 
But even still, she took such pride in this country. 
 
Two generations later, her grandson is running for President.
 
I’m proof that when Americans rise up and denounce hatred, no one -- not even a racist president like Donald Trump -- can win.  
 
I’m asking you to fight today like you’ve never fought before. 
 
Not just for candidates of color like me. 
 
But for kids of every race, creed, and religion who are listening. 
 
This is a fight for the soul of our nation, and how we respond in this critical moment will shape it.
