Ban Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying

The State Legislature must vote to Ban
Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying (BTFL) THIS session.

You are the Key to the door being opened for
a vote.

Ninety four percent of you voted
overwhelmingly AGAINST the practice of taxpayer-funded lobbying
on the 2020 Primary Ballot Propositions by voting in FAVOR of the
Ban. The bill was given a hearing by the Chair of State Affairs
on March 25, 2021.

Taxpayer-funded lobbyists recruited lots of
your local government officials to testify against it.

This is your tax dollars being used against
you!

Did your County Commissioners Court pass this
resolution? Call them and ask.

Did someone from your county testify against
the bill? Look up the people who testified or registered a
position here.

You need to KNOW! You will be surprised that
these great conservative officials don't agree with you on this
and many other issues. Your elected officials listen to the
lobbyists rather than you as seen by your vote on the primary
ballot propositions.

The lobbyists are drowning out your voice.

Three weeks later, the bill is STILL pending
in State Affairs. The Chair is refusing to bring it to a vote
where it can be considered by the whole body.

You spoke, the Republican Party listened. Now
your elected officials should listen to you.

Call your local officials (county judge,
county commissioners, sheriff, mayors, city council-members,
etc.) Let them know that you support Banning Taxpayer-Funded
Lobbying and that you want them to support the bill.

Call your State representative.

Over 6,000 delegates to the 2020 RPT
Convention spoke by voting on the Legislative Priorities for this
session. Out of over 300 planks, only 8 were chosen. This is one
of the eight.

Its importance cannot be overstated. It is
the key to getting your priorities passed in future sessions. If
you didn't get what you wanted last session, it's likely that you
will feel the same way after this session. Don't let the
lobbyists continue to run the legislature.

Silence their voices so that yours can be
heard. Speak up by calling, emailing, and texting.
