First, we want to wish all our members and supporters a happy May Day weekend! As we celebrate International Workers’ Day, we’re reminded of everything we as DSA are fighting for: a world free from exploitation, white supremacy, and all forms of oppression, and based on democracy, solidarity, and justice.



The fight for democratic socialism requires organization — and it is almost time to come together and determine the direction of our chapter for the next year! In just two weeks, we will be electing new leadership, adopting a chapter platform and setting three organizational priorities to get us closer to the socialist future we seek to build!

Check your email for an email with the subject “East Bay DSA 2021 Convention Consent Agenda Straw Poll” and fill it out by Sunday May, 7th at 11:59pm to determine which proposals should receive debate time at the Convention and which we will approve via consent agenda.

We believe that thorough debate and discussion helps us come to the best collective decisions. If you want to convince your comrades to vote "yes" or "no" on a convention proposal, write a short position statement and we'll post it on the website!
