Friends,
Expanding Medicaid was the first thing I did as governor. I knew it was the best way to put Louisiana first - and the results speak for themselves. Almost 500,000 more hardworking Louisianans are insured, and $317 million in taxpayer money has been saved.
However, even though people across our state are better off because of Medicaid expansion, my opponents still attack me for it - and they won't hesitate to dismantle it if they win power. With my first term coming to an end, protecting Medicaid expansion is one of the main reasons why I'm seeking reelection.
I believe wholeheartedly that my decision on Medicaid was the right one. But, when fighting for a policy, it's always helpful to be able to show that the people are behind you. That's why I'm reaching out today, asking for 5,000 grassroots supporters to respond to the following question before midnight. I know some of you signed up during our recent fundraising blackout period and were looking for ways to help out. This is one of the ways you can do so. Let me know where you stand:
Do you support Medicaid expansion?
