Five years ago today, we published our first story as APM Reports. It was the beginning of a four-part investigation into
[link removed]
Mesabi Academy , the northern Minnesota juvenile corrections facility that concealed sex abuse allegations, delivered ineffective treatment programs and allowed an unsafe environment. The owners closed the operation two months after our first story.



We worked with a great photographer on that project, and so many since. Now, on this anniversary, we're going back to the beginning with a flurry of retroposts on Instagram to reflect on the stories and imagery in our first half decade. Please join us.
