Greenway News
Last week, the State Corporation Commission denied the Dulles Greenway's request for five years of peak toll increases. This is a big win for Loudoun County commuters! I'm glad that the SCC made the right choice here by denying a peak toll increase, and I'm confident that the Greenway bill I carried and passed in the General Assembly this year will continue us on this new path.
You can read more about this Greenway decision here.
Early Voting Reminder
Early voting for the June 8th primaries is underway! The offices that will be on the June 8th ballot are:
Democratic primaries for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General
Democratic and Republican primaries for House of Delegates seats
Democratic and Republican primaries for some local seats
The Republican Party will be choosing its statewide candidates (Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General) via a convention on May 8th. These offices will not be on the June 8th primary ballot.
For Loudoun County, the only early voting location that is currently open is the Loudoun Office of Elections, 750 Miller Drive SE Leesburg, VA 20175. Additional early voting locations will open in May. Additional information can be found at the Loudoun County Office of Elections website.
In Prince William County, three early voting locations are currently open. You can find locations and hours at the Prince William County Office of Elections website.
You can request your absentee ballot at the Virginia Department of Elections website.
Vaccine News
Vaccines are becoming more and more accessible every day! As of this week, both Loudoun and Prince William County have exhausted their vaccine appointment waitlists, and are scheduling appointments directly online and by phone. You can schedule your vaccine appointment at Dulles Town Center in Loudoun County, or for multiple locations in Prince William County. Additionally, the community vaccination center at Gander Mountain in Woodbridge is accepting a small number of walk-ins per day.
The federal government has also launched a new website -- Vaccines.gov. This website makes it easy to find vaccine appointments at pharmacies and clinics near you. For Spanish speakers, you can visit Vacunas.gov.
