John,
We need to do something about the housing crisis in New York’s 12th district.
If New York is a tale of two cities, then NY-12 is a tale of two districts — and for the last 28 years, my incumbent opponent, Congresswoman Maloney has only served one. Throughout my life, I’ve not only seen but experienced how gentrification, rising rents, and poor housing quality have disrupted, and sometimes even destroyed, our communities. Carolyn Maloney, meanwhile, has sat by and watched.
NY-12 needs a leader who is determined to bring the voice of the people to the halls of Congress, and who is dedicated to representing all of us, and not just the privileged few.
That’s why I’m running for Congress in NY-12: because I believe in guaranteed safe, affordable, sustainable, and climate-friendly housing for all. Whether it’s providing shelter during the pandemic or making sure that people are not priced out of their homes — our fight for housing justice is long overdue.
John, the time for housing justice is now. If you agree, please add your name to show that you agree that housing is a human right.

As a child, my parents spent many days — and most nights — running our small neighborhood deli to pay the bills and provide for me and my three siblings. Our small business was the pride and joy of our family, until rising rent costs forced my father to close the deli and constant gentrification forced us to move six times over the course of my childhood.
Unlike my opponent, I believe that housing is a human right, not a for-profit business. Congresswoman Maloney has taken millions in donations from Wall Street and big banks, and has shown more support for Amazon and gentrification than she has for small businesses and communities in our district that desperately need help.
Now more than ever we need a leader who will fiercely advocate for rent control measures, a right-to-counsel and just cause requirements for eviction, guaranteed federal housing assistance, and much more. And Congresswoman Maloney has proven time and again that she is not the right leader for NY-12.
If you’re ready to join our fight for true housing justice and security and bring an end to decades long disenfranchisement, add your name and help us build our movement for housing justice.
