Commemorating the 104th Anniversary of the First Fatima Apparition

Dear Friend,

The COVID-19 pandemic, economic and political turmoil over the last 15 months has dramatically changed our daily lives in so many ways. It isolated us from one another, prevented us from attending Holy Mass in person and receiving the Consecrated Holy Eucharist during Communion, receiving absolution of sins through the Sacrament of Confession in the confessional, and deprived us of many other spiritually nourishing practices of our Catholic Tradition, including public processions on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. Many have lost dear loved ones, while others, who were infected with COVID-19 are still suffering unwanted health symptoms.

We continue to endure in with our Faith through it all! 

On May 13th, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, I want to personally invite you to join us in a special Marian Holy Hour and May Crowning of our beautifully hand-crafted replica of the International Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima. 

The May Crowning will join Prayer Warriors from around the world at the feet of Our Blessed Mother. The ceremony will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish in my home diocese of San Diego. Everybody is invited to join live in-person or via the international livestream. Bishop Ramon Berjarano of the Diocese of San Diego will preside at this inspiring Marian event to commemorate the 104^th anniversary of the first Fatima Apparition. A custom designed replica of the International Fatima Statue will enter in procession, Mary will be crowned, hymns sung, the Rosary recited, Our Lady’s litany and much more.

The pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish, Fr. Anthony Saroki will assist in this special occasion. During the Ceremonial Crowning of Our Lady, your intentions will be included along with the general intention that all you and everyone in attendance will receive a myriad of graces as we ponder in our hearts the Message of Fatima and strive to develop a more serious Devotion to Our Lady, through which she wishes to bring us to a greater love of God.  

Throughout the many years of my life I have been involved in the work of evangelization. It has been the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima and the prophetic message Our Lady delivered that have greatly inspired me in spite of numerous struggles and difficulties. I have witnessed countless lives changed, both of individuals and of communities as a result of experiencing God's grace through the maternal guidance of Our Lady of Fatima. A comprehensive account has been presented in my recent book on Fatima and the history of the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue titled: The Fatima Century: How the Pilgrim Virgin is Changing Our Generation.  
 
The Fatima Century recounts the “marvels of grace” from seventy years of Our Lady’s pilgrimage through a sinful world where her signal graces are more evident than ever. I look forward to having you and your family join me during the Crowning Ceremony of Our Blessed Mother Mary.
