Earlier this week, President Biden detailed his hugely successful first
100 days in office. On Day 1 alone, the administration rejoined the Paris
climate accord, reversed Trump’s Muslim Ban, and ended the Keystone
pipeline. And since then, the wins have kept on coming.

This administration has ended the ban on transgender troops. Ensured
enough vaccines for every adult in America. And by Day 51, Biden signed
the American Rescue Plan, one of the most impactful, progressive pieces of
legislation that has passed in generations. Not only did the bill provide
much-needed relief from four long years of Trump and the devastating
pandemic, it will be one of the most effective laws to alleviate poverty
for decades to come.

But as President Biden signaled on Wednesday night, we are just getting
started. In the months ahead, there is a critical need to pass more
groundbreaking legislation, like the American Jobs Plan and the American
Families Plan. These plans together include historic investments that
support the revitalization of our bridges, expand broadband, and guarantee
child care, elder care, education, paid leave, and more. It’s essential
that we build upon these proposals to ensure they meet the scale of the
crisis so that we can start to rebuild America again. That means they must
include a pathway to citizenship for essential workers who sacrifice so
much to keep our economy going, as well as a way to ensure the rich pay
their fair share in taxes.
