First, I want to take a moment today and say thank you.

Thanks to the support of grassroots activists like you, we were able to reach our April fundraising goal last night. These goals are critical to making sure we’re prepared to run a strong campaign in 2022 and protect our Senate majority.

And, as I’ve said before, we need to be ready for a tough fight.

Across the country, Republicans are doing everything they can to make it more difficult for people to vote in 2022.

First Georgia, then Texas, and just this week, the Florida state legislature passed sweeping new constraints on the voting process. This bill would severely limit the use of ballot drop boxes, make it harder to vote by mail, and give more powers to partisan “poll-watchers.”

Right now, there are 361 bills making their way through 47 states that include restrictive provisions on voting access. Many of these measures would disproportionately impact Black and minority voters and young people.

We can’t allow this assault on voting rights and our democracy to succeed.

As President Biden said in his joint address to Congress on Wednesday night, “If we are to truly restore the soul of America, we need to protect the sacred right to vote.” To do that we must take action at the federal level by passing the For The People Act .

We have big challenges before us. But if we work together and organize across this country we can and will win.

Thank you for continuing to support the fight to protect our democracy and deliver the change the American people voted for.

Onward,

Chris

Chris is leading efforts in the Senate to strengthen our democracy, protect the right to vote, get secret money out of our elections, and advance social justice and racial equity. Contributions from grassroots supporters like you help our campaign make the investments it will take to re-elect Chris in 2022 and keep the Senate majority.
