John,
We're heartbroken by the results of a new Pew Research Center survey: One-third of Asian Americans in our country walk the streets fearing that someone might threaten or attack them. More than 80% believe violence against them is rising.
Prejudice and violence against the AAPI community is nothing new, but it will never stop horrifying us, John. Addressing it requires long-term solutions -- and leadership that is willing to listen.
For years, Donald Trump did the opposite. He peddled in racist, xenophobic rhetoric that slandered our communities. He inspired white supremacists to harass and attack our elders, and he succeeded in inciting a 150% surge in anti-Asian hate crimes.
Just last year, while anti-Asian attacks were skyrocketing and House Democrats were passing a resolution condemning anti-Asian hate, House minority leader Kevin McCarthy claimed that “there is no kitchen in America that thinks this is a priority.”
We live in America, McCarthy.
People like you have stood in solidarity during these challenging times and energized us to continue our work, keep our communities safe, and support diverse leaders who will listen to our communities.

Today is the first day of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month, John. Thank you for helping us kickstart the month by supporting leaders who will ensure our communities feel heard, protected, and respected in Washington.
Our work continues,
