Joe Biden has nominated three people to fill the vacancies on the USPS's Board of Governors, giving us a chance to finally oust Trump mega-donor Louis DeJoy.
DeJoy was one of the main architects of Donald Trump's war on mail-in voting in 2020. He laid the groundwork Trump needed to sow distrust in a voting system that's been reliable for decades.
Democrats have long called for DeJoy's resignation, and he's saying that he plans to be around for “a long time.” “Get used to me.”
We can't “get used” to DeJoy in power -- the USPS won't survive it. His latest 10-year plan will dramatically increase delivery times for necessities like medication and paychecks, and he plans to make Americans pay more for their mail too.
We want to ramp up the pressure on the Senate to confirm Biden's current appointees. Then, we're going to put the pressure back on Biden to fire every single Trump-appointed governor on the board who still supports DeJoy.
That's the only way we stop DeJoy from running the USPS into the ground -- but we're coming up short of the funds we need to build this effort.
