Save the Children Action Network is the political voice for kids.

John –

I wanted to make sure you saw Lindsey’s powerful message below. The situation for children living in refugee camps is particularly dire, but you have a real opportunity to help.

The U.S. must continue to provide robust humanitarian assistance to support children and their families living in life-threatening situations around the world.

Will you send a message to your members of Congress today asking them to fund this urgent humanitarian aid?

Millions of children globally living in refugee camps are enduring some of the worst impacts of the coronavirus pandemic – especially in Cox's Bazar, where the largest refugee camp in the world is located. Hi John,

While we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel as more and more people in the United States get vaccinated, millions of children living in refugee camps are still grappling with some of the worst impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

In Cox's Bazar, where I work, the situation is dire, with nearly 1 million Rohingya refugees stranded in the largest and most densely populated refugee camp in the world after fleeing horrific violence in Myanmar.

Refugees are packed together, living in temporary shelters made of highly flammable bamboo. The camps are surrounded by barbed wire fencing, making it hard for refugees to reach safety should a disaster occur. These conditions led to a deadly fire that ripped through the camp last month – leaving 50,000 people homeless and hundreds of people missing.

In addition, Bangladesh is being hit by a second wave of Covid-19 and is quickly depleting its medical oxygen supply. For Rohingya refugees, their living conditions make them even more vulnerable to exposure. Social distancing is impossible and soap and clean water for handwashing is hard to come by. Due to the pandemic, schools have also been closed for more than a year so children have not had the space to play, cope with trauma and have fallen further behind in their education.

The need for humanitarian aid is urgent, and it will save lives. We know how much you care about supporting vulnerable children, so we need you to speak out for them today:

Please sign your name now to ask your members of Congress to provide more – and better – humanitarian aid for the world's most vulnerable children in Cox’s Bazar and around the world.

Kids living in refugee camps want to be free of fear but their circumstances won’t let them. 6-year-old Hafsana* can't sleep at night because she's afraid another fire will destroy her family's shelter. And 10-year-old Amir*, who was shot while fleeing the violence in Myanmar, is scared to go outside and has constant nightmares.

These are some of the children our teams here are working with around the clock to support. We're providing them with basic necessities like blankets, drinking water, food assistance, clothes and hygiene supplies. Our Emergency Health Unit provides essential medical care. And our Child Friendly Space is where kids like Amir can have a place to play and get the support they need to overcome the trauma they've endured.

We rely on humanitarian aid to deliver these services. Without the generosity of the United States, we can’t make these kids’ lives better. So please, will you join me in calling for more and better aid?

Click here to send a message to your members of Congress: Provide humanitarian aid for refugee children and their families as they struggle to overcome the immense hardships of the pandemic.

Thank you so much for being a voice for kids,
