If you need another reason to believe that, here's a recent example from the Biden administration: They committed to sending substantial resources -- PPE, vaccine manufacturing assistance, and more -- to India to help with its devastating outbreak of COVID-19.
President Biden and the Democratic majorities in Congress are working diligently to improve the lives of Americans here at home, but this is further proof that we are leaving the days of Donald Trump behind us by also expanding our commitments abroad.
Trump scapegoated Asian Americans, contributing to the huge uptick in hate crimes against AAPI people in this country. He turned his back on our international allies and withdrew America from key alliances and organizations, including the World Health Organization (in the middle of a pandemic!). His legacy is one of hatred and neglect.
Our hard work in 2020 has started to pay off. We can't afford to go backwards -- we need to be prepared for 2022.
