State Emergency Council Approves Nearly $2.8 Million For National Guard Border Mission
The State Emergency Council, convened this week by Governor Ducey, voted to allocate up to $2,536,500 from the Governor’s Emergency Fund to help fund the Arizona National Guard border mission. The Council also approved an additional $200K for the Search and Rescue Fund to support county sheriffs.
Governor Ducey Announces Nearly $27 Million To Support K-12 Students
Governor Ducey this week announced Arizona is distributing $26.5M to support Summer learning programs, reach struggling students, enhance student achievement and expand tutoring opportunities. The dollars come from Governor’s Emergency Education Relief funding, part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Governor Ducey Acts On 17 Bills
Governor Ducey on Wednesday took action on 17 pieces of legislation, including a bill that allows Arizonans to cancel or suspend health spa memberships without having to go to the facility and a bill that further protects law enforcement personnel who are parked on the side of the road.
Governor Ducey Signs Legislation To Protect Preborn Children
Under SB 1457, a person performing an abortion must complete an affidavit stating that the person is not aborting the child because of an abnormality. It also requires the doctor performing the abortion inform the woman that is it unlawful to perform an abortion due to the child’s race, sex, or genetic abnormality.
Governor Ducey Takes Action On Six Bills
Governor Ducey today took action on six pending bills, including a bill that further enhances Arizona’s progress on occupational license reform. SB 1063 ensures people working in a regulated occupation have access to due process during appeals.
Governor Ducey Signs Two Bills
Governor Ducey signed legislation this week to further protect those involved in a car accident on private property and to ensure Arizonans are informed about critical voting processes.
