*Datasets now available: Annual Survey of Jails in Indian Country, **2017* [ [link removed] ]* and **2018* [ [link removed] ]

The Bureau of Justice Statistics has released datasets on Indian Country jail statistics through the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data. These surveys collected data on–


* the number of adults and juveniles held
* type of offense
* average daily population
* most crowded day
* admissions and releases
* number of inmate deaths and suicide attempts
* rated capacity
* jail staffing.
