Friend,
Want proof that Evergreen Action is moving bold climate policy forward?
Well as they say, the proof is in the pudding: In his first 100 days, President Biden took 65 actions to address the climate crisis. And 60 of those actions are straight out of the Evergreen Action Plan. It's quantifiable evidence that Evergreen is a critical player in the movement to defeat the climate crisis—but they're just getting started, and grassroots supporters like you are going to determine how much more progress they can make this year.
Evergreen's momentum is building, and they've got an end-of-month fundraising deadline coming up at midnight. So I'm humbly asking: Will you chip in $10 or another amount right now to push this work forward over the next 100 days?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Evergreen Action researches, writes, and promotes climate policies with today's political realities in mind, so they have the best shot at becoming binding legislation. Here's an example of how that's been working:
85 days ago: Evergreen and Data for Progress released "A Roadmap to 100% Clean Electricity by 2035," a paper on the potential for a Clean Electricity Standard to cut U.S. emissions and recharge our economy—and paths for getting it done. A social-media-friendly video and fact sheet served it up in bite-size pieces for policymakers, activists, and the press.
30 days ago: President Biden announced his American Jobs Plan, a massive infrastructure agenda to jumpstart America's economic recovery. As E&E News noted, "Its backbone was a clean electricity standard. It was shaped by Evergreen."
17 days ago: Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm declared that a Clean Electricity Standard can be passed through budget reconciliation, meaning the 50 Democratic senators (with a tie-breaking vote from Vice President Harris) could pass it with or without Republican support.
This progress has been years in the making, and it's happening because Evergreen's plans are battle-tested and ready for prime time.
If you can, please chip in before midnight to help Evergreen continue the push for a Clean Electricity Standard, a Civilian Climate Corps, and other concrete climate policies that will make the dream of a just, inclusive clean energy future a reality.
Very truly yours,
Gov. Jay Inslee
