We started People First to help build a bench of bold, progressive leaders that will change the face of our politics and lead the charge on issues that impact working families.

Over the past month, we’ve been fighting for police accountability by backing local leaders and initiatives like San Antonio’s Proposition B that can create real systems of accountability within our public safety system.

We’ve been fighting alongside civil rights groups and other Texas leaders to stop the extreme voter suppression legislation being considered in our state.

And we’ve been identifying and supporting young progressive candidates up and down the ballot who will face elections this year — including Texas’s municipal elections tomorrow.

I couldn’t be prouder of what we have been able to accomplish, but in order to keep this work going, we need to shore up our resources.
