On Wednesday night, President Biden made the stakes clear: We are making big progress in this country, but if we do not organize now — prepare now—we are at risk of losing it all in the next election.

After all, Democrats hold a bare 218-seat majority right now. With 435 members in the House, we do not have a single vote to spare. It does not get any closer than that.

Last night, President Biden made it clear: America is on the way back.

In fits and starts, we are slowly making progress on defeating the pandemic. 43% of all Americans have gotten at least their first shot, and millions more every day. Small businesses are regaining their footing. And the American Jobs Plan will make a huge difference in rebuilding our infrastructure, setting the stage for a clean energy future, and giving families the support they need in child care, health care, and senior care.

That is the good news.

Here is the bad news: It will all be put at risk if we lose control of Congress in the 2022 election. And Republican leaders are making big plans to contest seats across the country.

Reapportionment shifted seats from blue states to red states. The old Koch Brothers network is gearing up their SuperPAC operation. Republican-controlled legislatures across the country are attacking voting rights. And Donald Trump continues to raise lots of money from his most fervent fans online.
