I have often spoken out in defence of older people and their lack of advocacy in Parliament in the last 10 years and in response to this I am hosting my second Over 55’s Information and Advice Fair in Melksham Assembly Hall on Sunday 6th October 2019. At 55 people are certainly not in the older bracket but they do start to retire then and look for new social networks - this is the age Age UK and Saga use hence the event.
This event follows on from my previous event in Chippenham which was attended by over 400 residents.
Organisations attending the event include: Pensions Wise, Alzheimer’s Support, Building Bridges, Help for Heroes, Prostate Cancer, Cancer Research UK, Royal British Legion, Immigration Advice Service, Melksham & District Flowering Arranging Society, Nordic Walking UK and many more local groups and societies.
This event will be open to the public from 15:00-17:00 and light refreshments will be available throughout. I hope to see as many residents from Melksham and the surrounding area as possible at this event.
