Big Win Over Small Bottles

As part of our Just Green Partnership, we were able to get the New York State legislature to pass a series of bills reducing single-use plastic containers in the hotel and hospitality industry, including the mini-bottles you find in hotel rooms. As Sonal Jessel, our Director of Policy and Co-Chair of the Just Green Partnership, noted: “Hotel mini-bottles create tons of unnecessary, mostly plastic trash that litters our waterways and contain chemicals that harm our health.” We thank New York State Senator Todd Kaminsky and Assemblymember Steven Englebright for their leadership on this, and we urge the Governor to sign it into law, helping reduce the plastic waste in our state.
