Does Jim Jordan take his role as the ranking Republican member of the Judiciary Committee seriously at all?

He’s been defending his buddy Rep. Matt Gaetz for weeks - while evidence piles up that he committed statutory rape, and while he's under federal investigation for sex trafficking and corruption. Gaetz is currently on the Judiciary Committee which has oversight power over the department investigating him for his crimes.

This is a clear conflict of interest but Jim Jordan refuses to call for him to be removed from the committee.

And federal law enforcement this week searched the apartment of Rudy Giuliani, investigating he illegally lobbied the Trump White House on behalf of foreign officials and oligarchs. Giuliani has donated over $3,000 to Jim Jordan’s campaign and made a contribution as recently as March 27th, with the investigation well underway.

It is beyond outrageous that Jim Jordan accepted money from the target of an active federal investigation. It would be improper for any member of Congress, but especially for Jordan, who helps lead the committee supervising the Justice Department. Jordan needs to donate the funds immediately- I'm suggesting he give the contributions to the West Ohio Food Bank.

Even to a career politician, these conflicts of interest should be obvious. We will not accept it as ‘just how Washington works.’
