Vote Yellow for a Greener Council
John, Liberal Democrat councils are some of the greenest in the country.
At Chelmsford City Council, the Liberal Democrats took control in 2019, we
have planted 30,000 trees. We are working towards planting one tree for every
resident - which is176,000 new trees over ten years! What’s more, we now
require developers to plant three trees for every new home they build.
In Chelmsford, we are also working towards the Council becoming carbon
neutral with a range of actions that includecutting out single-use plastics, we
now have100% renewable electricity and by replacing fossil fuelled council
vehicles with electric or hybrid ones.
Hinckley and Bosworth Council are also working to become carbon neutral. On
top of this, they are making it easier for residents to make greener choices.
Since coming into power in 2019, they haveincreased the number of electric
vehicle charging points from zero to 24 across their wards.
What’s more, four out of the top five councils for recycling are under
Liberal Democrat control. Our very own Three Rivers District in Hertfordshire
is leading the way, recycling, reusing or composting 64.1% of rubbish, with a
1.1% increase from the previous year!
The choice is clear: vote Liberal Democrat on 6th May for a greener, cleaner
council!
I'm voting Lib Dem! <[link removed]>
