I’m writing today because, according to our records (and correct me if I’m wrong), you have not yet renewed your 2021 membership and our April member drive ends at midnight tonight!
Now, even with the progress the Biden-Harris administration has made in its first 100 days, the Far Right is not letting up and there is still SO much to do. The right to vote is under attack by far-right legislatures across the country. White supremacist extremism is still on the rise. And desperately needed reforms to protect Americans' rights are being held up in the Senate by Mitch McConnell and the Far Right.
Our ability to fight back is only as strong as our membership base. We are only 217 new or renewed members away from hitting our April goal!
Your renewal donation today will go immediately towards:
- Fighting back against the Far Right's attempts to suppress the vote across the country – over 350 bills aimed at making it harder to vote have been introduced in 47 states across the country and we can stop these attacks with historic federal legislation like the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act!
- Filling federal judiciary vacancies with fair-minded, highly qualified members of the legal community who can bring both demographic and professional diversity to the bench – President Biden has announced two slates of highly-qualified judicial nominees who fulfill his campaign promise of diversifying our federal judiciary!
- Pushing back on the Far Right's smear campaigns against President Biden's women of color nominees that seek to prevent their confirmations through vicious lies and deliberate distortions about their careers – People For's #HerFightOurFight campaign has helped build a groundswell of progressive advocacy in support of these incredible nominees!
- Keeping up the sustained fight for accountability -- in the courts and at the ballot box -- for the far-right extremists who helped incite the January 6 insurrection and continue to undermine our democracy - with dozens of extremists now facing trial, the investigations continue!
- Pushing to END the legislative filibuster in the Senate – one of the biggest obstacles to passing the progressive reforms we've fought so hard for!
